1)  Q How will I know if my child has an overdue book?
A
After a book has not been returned or renewed for two library classes, an overdue notice will be sent home with your child. We put the notice in a white business size envelope addressed to the parent. The notice will tell you the name of the book, when it was due, and how much the book costs. Students may return books to the library any time. When the library is closed, books can be returned through the book drop slot by the library door.
2)  Q What happens if my child's library book is lost or damaged?

Payment for lost or badly damaged books should be made as quickly as possible. If your child has brought home an overdue notice, the price of the book is listed on the notice. Payment may be made by cash or check made payable to Clearfield Area School District. I do accept installment payments. If you need the price, please email me using the "Contact Mrs. Barton" link on my webpage or call the school to leave a message.
If a book has been damaged, send it to school with your child. I'll look at it to see if it can be fixed.
3)  Q When can my child get new library books if he/she was absent on library day or forgot to bring his/her books?
A
On days the library is open, children may come to the library between 8:30 - 8:45 am to return books and choose new ones. Teachers may send children to the library at any time throughout the school day when the librarian or library clerk are in the building.
4)  Q If I pay for a lost library book and find it later, can I get my money back?
A
Yes. As long as the book has not been damaged, you may return it to school for a refund.
