WEATHER-RELATED DELAYS, CLOSINGS AND CANCELLATIONS FOR THE 2014-2015 SCHOOL YEAR
The Clearfield Area School District will again operate an EMERGENCY EARLY CLOSING/ DELAYED START PROGRAM during the 2014-2015 winter season.
If weather conditions cause a disruption in the normal schedule of the school district, parents and students should listen to one or more of the following radio or television stations:
WOKW (Clearfield), WCPA (Clearfield), WQYX (Clearfield), WOWQ (DuBois), WPHB (Philipsburg), WFGY/WFBG (Altoona/State College), WTAJ-TV Channel 10, WJAC-TV Channel 6, WWCP-TV Channel 8 (Fox), WPSU-FM/WPSU-TV, SUNNY 106 and WPXZ 104.1 ( Punxsutawney).
Individuals should not call the school district or the radio or television stations with questions since the phone lines must be kept open to receive necessary information and make decisions concerning the daily schedule. Announcements will be released to the media stations as quickly as decisions can be made. Since the District is made up of 345 geographic square miles, decisions concerning delayed starts, cancellations or early closings must be made after evaluation of the entire District's conditions.
Delayed starts will be one or two hours depending upon the severity of weather conditions. Students should report to their bus stops one hour or two hours later than the normal time. Parents should use their own discretion as to whether to send their children. If, in the parents' opinion, weather conditions are too adverse in their particular area, they may keep students home for the day and indicate the reason on the student's excuse the next school day. Absences for severe weather conditions are an excusable reason for missing school.
DAYS MISSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER WILL BE MADE UP ON THE DATES BELOW IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:
February 13, 2015; April 7, 2015; April 2, 2015; April 6, 2015; and June as needed.
