Dear Parent/Guardian,
The Clearfield Area School District's Food Service Department is excited to announce some upcoming enhancements to our online school meal payment service.  Next week, we will be transitioning your existing MyNutrikids.com® account to a new service called mySchoolBucks ® .  This website provides a number of key features that you will find beneficial including:

· Scheduled recurring payments

· Automatic deposits when your child's account balance runs low

· Extended purchase history for the past 90 days

· Low balance email notifications

Until this transition occurs, you may continue to make payments through MyNutrikids.com.  If you already have a MyNutrikids.com account, you will NOT need to create a new account with mySchoolBucks.  Your existing login username and password will remain the same.  Children that are associated with your account will also carry over to the new service.  Once the transition is complete, you will be automatically redirected to mySchoolBucks where you can begin using the new service.  Parents with an existing MyNutrikids.com account will receive an introductory email from mySchoolBucks, which will provide instructions on how to use this new service.  For more information about mySchoolBucks please visit: http://www.learnmyschoolbucks.com/Parent

CASD Parents & Students:

You may have heard that USDA has recently issued new nutrition standards for school lunches. We're proud that the CASD school meals already included lots of whole grains, vegetables and fruits as required by the new rules.  You'll notice some changes to the menus as we continue to meet these new standards, but students can still find their favorite lunches and parents can feel even better about their child getting a healthful meal at school.  We always have, and hope that you will, encourage students to try new and healthy menu items.

All school lunches include five components:  vegetable, fruit, meat/meat alternate, bread, and milk.  Students may choose an entree that includes the meat/meat alternate and bread components.  To complete their meal, they may take one serving of fruit, one serving of vegetables, and a serving of low-fat or fat free milk.  Students may decline up to two of the food components but of the three components selected, one must be a fruit or vegetable.

PLEASE NOTE:  Students will be asked to select additional food items if at least three of the five components are not selected, or if they do not choose a fruit or vegetable.

DON'T 4 GET!  Take at least one Fruit or  Veggie

And at least three Items total so your meal

Counts as a complete lunch!
