MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT: 2/4/2010 |
National
School Counseling Week is a week that is dedicated to school counselors and their positive impact on students' lives and futures. I am proud to
recognize CASD school counselors as part of this observance.
Every day our counselors play a vital role in the development of our students on academic, social, and personal levels. Their efforts break down barriers that some students experience when learning, and are an important support for all students to achieve at their highest level. Most important, counselors are "there" for students regardless of their needs.
HATS OFF and THANK YOU to CASD school counselors! Their work with our students and families is greatly appreciated.

CASD ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS EARN AWARDS |
Superintendent Richard C. Makin announced the Clearfield Area School District's four elementary schools had been recognized by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Education. He said they received the Keystone Awards, as they earned Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for two consecutive years in 2007-08 and 2008-09. They presented five Clearfield Elementary School students with an award prior to Monday night's committee meetings. In the front, Cody Shaw, and Mackenzie Rowles, hold the award. In the back, from left to right, are Cameron Thomas; Barrett Kline; Clearfield Elementary School Principal James Quick, Jr.; and Laney Hudson. Afterward, Quick said the five students were very active at the elementary school. He said they all should be credited for the school's academic achievements.
