Centre EL students recently helped out Haiti earthquake victims by collecting donations of spare change that totalled $431.90! The class with the highest classroom total was Mrs. Moore's 2nd Grade. A HUGE thank you to all who helped in any way! (Row 1: Student Council, Rows 2&3: Mrs. Moore's class.)

Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program |
POSTED 9/21/09
Dear Parents, We are proud to announce that Centre Elementary and Girard/Goshen Elementary are the recipients of a
Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
As a result of being awarded the grant, our students will have the opportunity to receive a fresh fruit or vegetable snack every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Along with making time for the students to enjoy the snack, the classroom teachers will be giving the students some information pertaining to the fruit/vegetable. They will discuss such things as what kind of fruit or vegetable it is; why it is good for us, and where it comes from.
This is a great opportunity to introduce new fruits and vegetables to our children. Please take some time at home to discuss the program with your children, encourage them to try the snack and give them some time each evening to tell you what they had and what they learned about it. If you have any questions regarding the grant, please feel free to call the school.
Thank you for your continued support in educating our children.
