Mason Carfley, a Senior from Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School and Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) Diesel program, recently traveled to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg.  Mason, along with 30 other Honor Guard members, conducted the traditional flag raising and folding detail and honored our nation’s fallen heroes by standing watch at the memorial through the night and during America’s Tribute to Fallen Firefighters.  Each year, America honors its fallen fire heroes during a National Memorial Service at the monument site. The ceremony includes the placing of a Presidential Wreath at the monument and dedication of a plaque honoring those who died in the line-of-duty during the previous year.
