Dear Parents/Guardians,

“…the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of the parents”- Jane D. Hull

While this has always been true, it is more so this year and our children need all of us working together to be successful. With the increasing Covid-19 positive cases in our county, we want you to know that we are prepared to make a shift to remote instruction, should the need arise.

Our teachers will provide daily instructional materials and support in all content areas through District supported platforms. Paper copies of instructional materials will be available for pick-up in the elementary office, for those without access to the internet. Attendance will be recorded based on the return of assigned work. To prepare for the possibility of temporary closures, CAE has taken the proactive steps of adopting Remind, Class Link and Microsoft Teams and will continue to use Teacher Pages in Kindergarten to stay connected and deliver instruction daily. Please see the areas below to familiarize yourself with our processes.

Teacher Pages

Directions on how to find everything you need can be found on Teacher Pages on the Clearfield Area School District website at clicking on SITES, Clearfield Area Elementary, MENU and the Teacher Pages tab.  Select your child’s teacher to gain access to their contact information, lessons and materials.  Teacher Pages will be used to deliver instruction to students in Kindergarten.

We have adopted Remind as a District communication platform. Remind allows secure and private two-way text/voice communication directly with your child’s teacher(s), nurse, guidance counselors and CAE office staff.  To create an account, go to and click on “sign up”. The CAE office code is @4f388d.

Class Link

Class Link is a single-sign on program. You can find it by going to the Clearfield Area Elementary School website at clicking on MENU and QUICK ACCESS LINKS.  Once your child/children have signed on, they will be able to get to any online programs used by the district. Your child will be bringing this information home if a closure occurs. If you cannot find it, please contact your child’s teacher.

Microsoft Teams for students in Grades 1-6

Instruction will be delivered to students in Grades 1-6 through Teams. Students in Grades 4-6 have been practicing with Teams daily and are doing well. Students in Grades 1-3 are becoming familiar with this platform and currently practicing with their teachers.  Should a temporary closure occur, devices will be distributed to students in Grades 1-3 and directions on access will be posted on each teacher’s Teacher Page.

We thank you for all that you have done to keep us in face-to-face instruction and for your role as our partner in your child’s education. Please continue to monitor your child’s health, keep them home when they are ill and practice important healthy practices like hand washing, masking and social distancing. Please contact us with any questions at elementary school (814) 765-5511 or by e-mail or
