RE: Switch in Instructional Method to Virtual
Notification to Junior/Senior High School Community – Students in Grades 7-12 ONLY
We were notified this afternoon of two additional students recently testing positive, in addition to a number of ones awaiting test results among the students and staff. This will, as we follow the recommendations of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, require us to shift to an all virtual model for the next five to seven days. Students will be off Tuesday, November 17th as we allow our teachers a day to prepare for the change. Starting on Wednesday, November 18th all students, Group A and B, will be expected to participate in their classes online as previously outlined for them. This will remain in place through the Thanksgiving holiday with our return to school scheduled for Wednesday, December 2nd. If we are fortunate to return on that date, it will be a Group B day.
As we are made aware of any new cases in the upcoming days that would require contact tracing, we will be in touch with those families. The school nurses will continue to be monitoring their phones and e-mails to help with your concerns as they may arise.
If your child would need something from the school that they left behind, please contact the school office about an opportunity to pick up those items at a scheduled time.
Any extra-curricular activities that would occur in person will be on hold until we resume with school in a physical setting.
