RE: Elementary Kitchen Concerns
Dear Clearfield Area Elementary Families,
Recently we have identified cockroaches in the kitchen area of the elementary school. Today, after a review with the Department of Agriculture, we have developed a plan in partnership with the inspector to treat the concern as aggressively and as safely as we can. Unfortunately, we are going to need to close the elementary school kitchen for a period of time to allow for an aggressive treatment plan.
During this time, we will still be serving breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria area with all service occurring in the dining room. There will be a modified menu, and all food preparation will occur at the Junior/Senior High School and delivered to the elementary school. This will limit our ability to serve hot meals during this time at the elementary school.
In an abundance of caution, we will continue to monitor other areas as well. We are thankful for the direction and cooperation provided by the Department of Agriculture and are hopeful that the treatment plan developed will address the concern quickly.
Sincerely,
Terry W. Struble, Superintendent
